Local artist, Derrick Monk, will show you how to carve a simple piece of Styrofoam into a piece that you will then turn into a lost-material mold for casting in Aluminum. You will leave with the finished aluminum piece.
Appropriate attire: Shirt of natural fibers, jeans, and shoes that completely cover feet. Safety gear will be supplied.
Also, don't forget you're playing with fire, so depending on the time of day and season, a hat, sunscreen and bottle of water could be useful.
Workshops must meet a minimum number of registrations. Mixxer may cancel workshop 48 hours prior to start time, if minimum is not met. Should you need to cancel your registration, 48 hours notice is required to request a cancellation, refund or credit to future workshop date.
