In this two-session maker experience, you will learn to create your own screens to print on a T-shirt or tote bag.

Makers will be introduced to the screenprinting process by preparing transparencies, learning to coat & expose screen to make a single color print. Bring your own design or use one from MIXXER's collection to transfer onto a screen and watch your design transform into wearable, show-off-able art!

**IMPORTANT**

This workshop occurs over two sessions, starting Thursday, Oct 28th (6 pm - 8 pm) and continues Friday, Oct 29th (6 pm - 8 pm).

You logo or artwork should be a single color design on white background in a digital format. Ensure your design fits within the maximum size of the screen of 12-in by 16-in.

White T-shirts will be provided (L and XL sizes available). Participants have the option to bring their own garments or tote bags.

Instructor Bio: Kimberly Varnadoe received her BFA in Painting from the University of South Alabama and her MFA in Printmaking from the University of Memphis. In addition to being Professor of Art at Salem College in Winston-Salem, NC, she also directed the Elberson Fine Arts Center Galleries, curating multiple exhibits for more than 25 years.

Varnadoe has been screen printing for more than 30 years, beginning when she was an undergrad student. She had great fun printing T-shirts with messages for friends using her original designs. She also creates works with experimental photography and a variety of printmaking techniques, often combining the two processes. She enjoys experimentation and feels that art is most alive during the art making -- the final work of art is the record of the art process. She finds sharing ideas and skills with other people uplifting and inspiring!
