Every second Friday of the month, MIXXER's esteemed member and experienced instructor, Linda Starkey offers her craft-y knowledge and skills to friends and community members in casual, entry-level and fun creative explosions. This is a hands-on and engaging event that anyone at any skill level is welcome to attend. All supplies provided. Make stuff while making friends!
Each of these creativity get-togethers teaches you techniques and design skills that will lead up to an intermediate maker experiences series in December & January creating your own unique multimedia journal!
On July 9th, Linda will introduce you to the wonderful world of Gelli Arts Plates, a unique technique of printmaking without the press! You will learn to create designs with stencils, brushes and found objects to create a unique background for your multimedia journal.
Check out how it works from the maker of these plates, Gelli Arts (TM): https://www.gelliarts.com/.

Instructor Bio: Pursuing, appreciating, absorbing, and honing creative skills and
techniques is Linda Starkey’s life. Her passion for arts and crafts was sparked at age four when her mother showed her basic embroidery stitches and handed Linda thread, a needle, a hoop, and a blue-stamped dresser scarf. It started Linda on a lifelong journey of continual learning about every type of art or craft that came her way: crocheting, knitting, cloth dolls, basketry, stained glass, quilting, decoupage, rubber stamping, painting, mindful doodling (a.k.a. Zentangling), and woodworking, to name a few. Mixxer made it possible for Linda to learn other skills that she uses to make special products to sell in boutiques. With a life’s worth of crafting adventures and artistic pursuits in her toolbox, experimenting with multimedia provides hours of fun and sometimes some really awesome outcomes, some of which reside in galleries, museums, boutiques, and the jewelry boxes of friends and family.
