Intro to Making a Memorial Pillow

Learn how to preserve loved ones precious items in this class where we will learn to make simple pillows you can hug and squeeze when you miss them.

Great for sewing machine beginners who want to make something special while practicing their sewing skills. 

In this beginner maker experience, you will cut out fabric from garments from special people or memorable moments from your life sew them together and fill them will the remaining fabric to make a memorial pillow.

INSTRUCTOR BIO: Antonina “Little Thunder” Whaples is an intertribal shaman and owner of Kindred Spirits. She’s was voted Triad’s #1 Best Visual Artist 2020, and Kindred Spirits was voted one of the best visual art galleries in the triad in 2021 by Yes! Weekly readers. She is an established fashion designer with showcases in Winston Salem Fashion Week, and a Wake Forest University graduate in Studio Art & Philosophy. Her work is currently represented by Saatchi Gallery in NYC and she has a focus on repurposed and upcycled textiles and multi-media art.

Workshops must meet a minimum number of registrations.  Mixxer may close registration 48 hours prior to start time, if minimum is not met. Should you need to cancel your registration, 48 hours notice is required to request a cancellation, refund or credit to future workshop date.
