Learn how to make puppets using newspaper, tape, and rope! Using these simple materials, we'll create a puppet you can take home and talk about tabletop puppetry. Once you finish with your puppet you'll learn the basics of how to play your puppet and be on your way
Lyssa Troemel is in her third year of studies in Animatronics at UNCSA. Prior to enrolling at UNCSA, she was a props master and puppet builder in the Fort Wayne, IN area. Her work gained the attention of the local band Silbo Gomero and she collaborated with them to produce the award-winning shadow puppet music video “Whale Fall”. She also served on the Board of Directors of Puppeteers of America for two years. She loves to find ways to fuse the arts with technology and continues to do so in her studies.
