Whether there's an intricately designed prop you've been wanting to recreate or you want to make a sword but don't want all the work of forging it, come learn how to create it. Learn techniques on how to create a variety of props, swords, helmets, and more out of lightweight cardboard!
To make the best use of the class time, bring some inspiration to get started on your design. You will get personal guidance based on your project from the instructor.
Thaddeus Prevette is a sculpture artist who began working with three dimensional objects back in 2016. He graduated from Western Carolina University in 2020 with a BFA in studio art and graduated from East Carolina University with an MFA in sculpture in May of 2023. He participates in public art exhibitions and was commissioned for the design of the ECU 911 Memorial sculpture back in 2021. He works with recycled and repurposed material to create narrative artwork that is influenced by historic and modern mythologies.
This class is for makers 13 years old and older. Makers under 16 years old must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Email: workshops@wsmixxer.org with any questions.
Workshops must meet a minimum number of registrations. Mixxer may cancel workshop 48 hours prior to start time, if minimum is not met. Should you need to cancel your registration, 48 hours notice is required to request a cancellation, refund or credit to future workshop date.
